Becky Lentz is an Assistant Professor of Communications in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages (Spanish and Latin American Studies), a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics (language acquisition and teaching), and a Ph.D. in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Radio, TV, and Film (specializing in communication technology and policy). She combines her academic training with her professional experience as a former software developer, policy analyst, strategic communications consultant, adult educator, and philanthropic grantmaker to researching how civil society policy advocates acquire, mobilize, and pass on their knowledge. Her interests in Digital Humanities lie principally in finding ways to visualize policy change from a discourse and genre theory perspective.
