Shahnameh manuscript. McGill RBSCDH McGill convened an exploratory working group on 7 February 2013 to open discussion between faculty, library staff and students involved in digitization and manuscript culture initiatives around campus. Chaired by Dr. Mat Milner, of Digital Humanities, the meeting gave a diverse group the chance to discuss their projects and explore future options for co-ordination and collaboration between members.

Those attending included Amy Buckland (McGill Library Services), Dr. Michael van Dussen (Department of English and co-ordinator of the McGill Medievalists) and Dr. Ichiro Fujinaga (Schulich School of Music). After brief introductions of themselves and their respective projects, the meeting turned to the possibilities offered by various web tools, such as Dr. Fujinaga’s DivaJS viewer and crowd-sourced mark-up applications.

The meeting finished with preliminary thoughts to further organization, perhaps split along research interest lines. Those interested in becoming involved in such a group can contact Dr. Milner at digital.humanities@mcgill.ca
